Vehicle Description When Ford Motor Company introduced the Thunderbird in 1955, the goal of the company was to create a new segment in the U.
S.
automobile market, the personal luxury car.
There are those who would say Ford accomplished that goal and more, as the Thunderbird nameplate came to be associated with luxury regardless of the body configuration that particular year! Ford produced the Thunderbird continuously from the 1955 through the 1997 model years.
It evolved through 10 distinct generations in that time frame, and the company used the T-bird badge to chase whatever trend they felt the auto industry was moving toward with some degree of success.
To date, the 11th and final generation of Thunderbird (to date) was introduced for the 2002 model year and produced through the 2005 model year.
The last generation T-bird drew inspiration from the first-generation cars, coming off the line as two-seat convertibles with a soft top and removeable factory hardtop.
In much the same fashion as the first-generation cars were appointed with the luxury items of the day, the final generation cars were loaded with virtually every power and convenience option available on the order sheet.
There were several special limited-edition models offered for these cars by Ford during the production run, most involving special paint and trim appointments.
One of the most popular special editions was produced in the 2003 model year, the 007 edition of which a total of 700 were produced.
The car was based on the 2002 Thunderbird actress Halle Berry drove in the James Bond movie Die Another Day and also served to commemorate the 40th anniversary of a Ford Thunderbird appearing in the legendary Bond franchise.
The Coral Red exterior color matches the color bikini Berry wore in her portrayal of the character Jinx.
While the 2002 model movie car featured a hardtop matched to the vehicle body color, all 700 2003 007 edition cars were equipped with a white hardtop and black soft top.
The color also was very close to the Sunset Coral paint code available on the 1956 Ford Thunderbird.
In addition to the white top, all the 007 edition cars were fitted with white interior upholstery and trim accents as well as special badging noting the limited edition.
Evergreen Digital Showroom presents this low-mileage, original example of a 2003 Ford Thunderbird 007 edition for sale.
The glove box tag confirms this car is #274 of 700.
The present owner acquired the car in June 2014 and is the third titled owner of the vehicle.
During his ownership the Thunderbird has been housed in a humidity-controlled environment, started regularly and driven from time to time as weather conditions permit.
This car appears to be in factory original condition with no modifications whatsoever.
The Coral Red paint presents in excellent condition, as does the white interior.
Both the white removeable hardtop and black soft top match the car's condition.
The car is powered by a 4.
9L V8 engine designed by Jaguar (a Ford-controlled company at that time) backed by a five-speed automatic transmission in a conventional rear-wheel drive configuration.
Power options include power seats, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power door locks, power rear-view mirrors, power truck release, power steering and power top.
While we believe the odometer reading of 21,488 miles to be correct and original, in accordance with state statutes governing licensed Missouri automobile dealers this car will be sold mileage-exempt due to age.
NOTICE Because of the number of vehicles we represent we cannot drive every vehicle for long distances.
These vehicles have been part of static displays for long periods of time, in some cases for decades, and are subject to the flaws and imperfections consistent with that.
While we do our best to disclose all issues we known about a vehicle in our advertising, these are old cars and something that has always worked in the past might not function properly today.
Please check the requirements of your state regarding the licensing and registration of classic vehicles and make sure the vehicle you are looking at meets those if applicable.
Unless otherwise noted, all vehicles represented by Evergreen Digital Showroom possess a clean (non-branded) title which will be provided the new buyer when purchase funds clear our financial institution.
Virtually all our vehicles are sold as mileage exempt due to their age.
We do not warranty any vehicle, nor any part of the vehicle including air conditioning systems, brake systems, electrical systems and gauges, fuel systems, accessories or powertrain components.
These are old vehicles and it is very common for them to require certain maintenance and upkeep for them to be operational.
In many cases issues with leaks may develop when being driven after a long period of not being used.
This is common, as classic cars at some point will leak fluids.
For this reason, we do not encourage buyers to attempt driving their purchase home as we cannot guarantee functional reliability of these vehicles.
We strongly encourage prospective buyers to be sure they are comfortable with these issues before purchasing a classic car.
Descriptions of vehicles represented by Evergreen Digital Showroom are intended to be informational in nature and do not in any way constitute any sort of warranty, expressed or implied.
Again, these vehicles are presented as-is, where-is without guarantee or warranty.
