Job Brief The Quality Engineer (QE) performs inspections and sets quality testing models for analysis of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products. G3 Boats has an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our Quality Control team in Lebanon, MO. The Quality Engineer (QE) performs inspections and sets quality testing models for analysis of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products. Assists in developing quality control policies. The QE work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
QUALITY ENGINEER:
Lead, plan, and direct Quality Assurance activities needed for ISO9001 certification. Work together with our Yamaha US MBU manufacturing subsidiaries to create, align, and implement QMS standards. Seek and recommend ways to improve the QMS. Work together with quality staff of each Yamaha subsidiaries on ISO and QMS projects as needed. Plan and direct activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for inspection processes and materials. Work together with quality staff and production employees to facilitate the development of QMS standards, and improvements. Conduct process audits, QA reporting, and support factory quality and production initiatives. Maintain quality assurance objectives to minimize defects and customer complain reduction. Assumes any other duties as assigned by Manager
Qualifications:
Education, Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering required At least 5-7 years of experience in Quality assurance or Quality control Prefer experience in boat or automotive industries. Demonstrated application of engineering skills and problem-solving techniques. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with applied experience working in a cross functional team environment. Ability to create technical documentation with computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Power point, Word,etc. Knowledge of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) Knowledge of quality control tools Ex.; P-FMEA, D-FMEA, SPC(Statistical Process Control), etc. Knowledge of Quality Standard (ISO9001, IATF16949) Some knowledge of boats and their parts in material, manufacturing, and trend will be an advantage Ability to listen to and effectively collaborate with factory operators is key to success. Knowledge of the recreational boating market, customer and competitive business understanding will be a plus. Physical Demands:
While visiting production, walking, standing, talking in noisy environment can happen. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Work Environment:
Some travel to our parent company (Yamaha Motor Corporation) or Yamaha manufacturing subsidiaries may be required. (They are located in Kennesaw, GA, Kilgore, TX, Indianapolis, IN, Milwaukee, WI, Deerfield Beach, FL and Vonore, TN) Commodities:
Aluminum boats, roto-molded plastic parts, casted outboard propellers, and electrical parts. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. Job Type:
